A One Day Artisans Retreat For Women
Free Your Life With Words! Foolsgold: Making Something from Nothing and Freeing Your Creative Process helps women loosen up and encourage their hidden artist to come out and play!
Monica Dashwood, empowerment facilitator and Susan Wooldridge, author of Foolsgold and poemcrazy, bring insight, tools and techniques to this one day retreat designed to free your life with words, learn more about yourself and feel excited about writing. In a safe, free setting, surrounded with words and beauty, you will write extraordinary pieces, freeing your creative spirit within.
First, we start off playing with language. Then, Susan helps us create "wordpools," and we see we're all immersed in an ocean of words we largely ignore. We learn to create images, practice close observation, begin to develop metaphor, and gradually move into "dreamsense," where we can explore who we are, where we come from and where we're going.
Music, paintings, collage journals and "word tickets" are all used to help us enter the realm where we begin to write poems that express more than words can say, an act Allen Ginsberg called "ordinary magic."
